Proposed Traffic Regulation Order, Main Street, Newtown Linford
STATEMENT OF REASONS
BOROUGH OF CHARNWOOD
MAIN STREET, NEWTOWN LINFORD
PROPOSED NO WAITING AT ANY TIME AND REVOCATION OF EXISTING NO WAITING AT ANY TIME RESTRICTIONS
Leicestershire County Council proposes to extend the no waiting at any time restrictions (double yellow lines) outside 122 to 126 Main Street and to revoke some of the existing no waiting at any time restrictions elsewhere on Main Street between the Markfield Lane and Ulverscroft Lane junctions.
In light of the concerns over parking by visitors to Bradgate Park and the congestion and hazards this caused it was proposed to implement no waiting at any time restrictions along the length of Main Street. Following the introduction of these restrictions concerns were raised by residents over the necessity to have additional on street parking. In light of these concerns and other comments some of the no waiting at any time restrictions are proposed to be revoked and to improve visibility at accesses the existing restrictions outside 122 – 126 are proposed to be extended
The proposal are shown in plan TM5044/T1/12.
These proposals are being made to improve amenity for residents.
