Newtown Linford - Crime update August 2017
There have been two reported burglaries in the Markfield Lane area.
The first occurred on the 12th August whilst the owners were away. Entry was gained by forcing the front door and property was removed.
The second occurred on the 26th August and entry was gained through a window. Items of property and a vehicle were taken from the location.
There are also two reports of two vehicles left at outlying beauty spots have had windows broken, no property was taken.
Crime prevention advice
There has been a report that a local resident was contacted and they were owed several thousands of pounds in a PPI claim. This was followed by requests that they purchase vouchers which would need to be handed to a courier who would attend the address with their cheque. Fortunately they realised this was a scam and no payments were made.
Please be aware that scams take many forms but if it seems too good to be true it probably is!
I am pleased to say that the Community Library in Quorn have kindly agreed that beat surgeries can be held at the location. Many thanks to the Library Committee.
We'd like to meet you
Please check the Leicestershire policing website for dates and venues for our forth coming Beat surgeries.
